I am picky about what I buy because I want it to be ethically made and sourced. I don't buy things often because clothing that fits the criteria is expensive (and I enjoy a simpler wardrobe) - I was in the market for a new sweater and waited over a year for this to come back into stock. It was SO worth it. I ordered a cardigan and pullover version. The fit, color, cut, and quality are perfection. My partner says hugging me in it is also a treat because it's so cuddly. Buttons are gorgeous. Worth every penny!! FWIW I'm 5'6.5" 135 lbs and the small fits beautifully (it's not oversized like the pullover fyi, so order your usual size)
I had been eyeing these cardigans for awhile and when they went on sale I went for it. I saw the comments saying they ran small so I sized up and am really happy I did, it’s a perfect fit. I love the color (deep sea) and the merino is sooo soft and cozy. My only critique is it came with some loose threads in a few places along seams that I’ve had to tie off or tuck in, for the price I expected it not to have flaws like that. I also really love the natural buttons.
I originally ordered and xs because the one a tried from a previous year ran huge. It turned out to be way too fitted and short (I’m 5’2 and 120 lbs), so I sized up to a small. Luckily I was able to exchange pretty easily. I did notice that on both sweaters there were lots of loose threads where the buttons were sewn on, and some look like they are about to fall off. It looks like a fairly easy fix, but I would have expected better quality for a $200 sweater.
Sweater is very short and sleeves are short. However the knit is very soft and cozy. When I first got it, the sweater barely came past my navel area, and fit tight in the arms and in the bust. I was very disappointed to find out that it was a final sale item, even though I paid full price and it didn't say anywhere that it couldn't be returned. So, I wet the sweater and stretched it out with a LOT of pulling and finally it fits ok. However, I should not have had to do that with a $200 sweater.
I originally ordered an XSmall, since I'm usually a size 6/8. But then I thought better of it and switched to a Small, as I'm on the taller side (5'8") with long arms. Well, thank goodness I did, as it just fits.
I was hoping it would be bigger and oversized. It's quite short, the bottom just covers my navel by an inch or two. The sleeves just barely reach the end of my wrists.
I'm rather disappointed that it doesn't fit the way it was described. I guess this batch went in the opposite direction from the last batch.
Definitely consider sizing up now. I'd go with the medium if I could. I wish there were a way to know the fit before ordering. Unfortunately, I'm in Canada, so it's totally cost prohibitive to send it back to exchange (not just shipping, but duty). It's a shame, I had high expectations!
I see now that the "size & fit" tab actually advises you to size up. But I ordered mine as a pre-order like 2 months ago, and at that time, it definitely said not to size up. Lesson learned: don't pre-order!
