Bought a couple sizes up for my very tall daughter, who loves having a pocket for a small stuffed animal or 2! This is soft and warm and a beautiful color.
I run a nature school and bought this for my 5 year old and it was my first purchase NUI organic. The fabric is dreamy, the color vibrant, and the fit is decent (I sized up one size because my son has a long torso.) We spend a lot of time outside and after only wearing as a base layer a handful of times, the kangaroo pocket stitching started coming undone in addition to the fabric developing 3 holes that look like runs in pantyhose. I only washed twice on a delicate cycle and laid flat to dry. I am so disappointed as my son has sensitivities to some fabrics and this was great For him. I am still looking for a warm base layer that will withstand outdoor adventures to recommend to for my students.
As our little guy transitions to cooler weather and long sleeves vs just onesies, this has become our favorite shirt! The snap at the collar is amazing to keep the neck wide enough for easy on and off. The weight is perfect for fall and color a beautiful deep teal. Only thing that could make it even better is if it had fold over cuff mitts. Paira great color wise with other nui items for easy mix and match
Purchased extras as natural sun protection for days at the beach. Great fabric and pleasant colors. The pocket is great bonus.
I bought 2 of these (willow and deep sea) for my nature-loving 4 year old to wear as layers and stand alone shirts for outdoor school. The kangaroo pocket perfectly stows away a small treasure or warms the hands - it's a nice feature. I like the weightier wool, which makes it a good mid-layer choice. The size 5 is not too roomy for my slender 4 year old, and there is enough room to wear comfortably through the next year.
