Earth Day is held on April 22 every year since 1970 and is considered the birth of the modern environmental movement. Today, Earth Day is celebrated by over a billion people every year - the largest secular observance in the world - and a day of action that changes human behavior and provokes policy changes.
It is a call to action spearheaded by the Earth Day Network, whose mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.
